Western Kentucky University stood for those who can’t in its annual stand-only celebration. WKU’s Dance Big Red committee organized the third-annual fundraiser with a goal of raising $50,000 for Norton Children’s Hospital. During the event, students stood for 12 hours as they learned a full choreographed dance every hour. Inflatables were also offered. The Dance Big Red Committee’s morale chair Britney Utterback spoke to News 91.7 and said, “These people are working hard all year to save a child’s life and they do. We raised $25,000 last year.” The registration fee for Dance Big Red was $12. T-Shirts were offered to all who attended. The event raised $66,553 for the hospital.
